Skylar Laine was voted off among the Top 5 American Idol 2012 Hopefuls. This was announced May 3, 2012.
Many viewers presumed it was Hollie Cavanagh because of her being in the Bottom 3 more often, but it seems Hollie is a dark horse; she performed well and had shown the American Idol judges that she has talent.

Skylar Laine performed “You Don’t Have To Love Me” and “Fortunate Son” on May 2, but she was not fortunate enough to stay on for the remaining weeks of American Idol 2012.
With Skylar’s talent though, she would sign a contract eventually.
