“The Avengers” Becomes a Box Office Hit in International Theaters

The Avengers” was a Box Office Hit in international theaters as the movie opened to viewers all over the world. It earned more than $150 million in North America alone, entertainment sites reported.

In the Philippines, whole families, couples and all types of moviegoers trooped to the cinemas this weekend to watch their superheroes defeat the villain. Apparently, it is considered a family movie by most Filipinos.

Reportedly in Argentina, “The Avengers” grossed more than $600,000, with similar figures in other Asian countries, like Korea.

In Ireland, Ken Armstrong, a noted writer for radio, theatre, and film, said:

“Sam and I have considered it carefully and, yes, if you like your Super Hero stuff, we think we can recommend The Avengers most wholeheartedly to you.”

Sam is Ken‘s teenage son.

In the U.S. local front, “The Avengers” battle it out for Box Office earnings against “Think Like a Man,” “The Five Year Engagement,” The Raven,” “The Pirates! Band of Misfits,” and “Safe.”

The Avengers” cast includes Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey, Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson and Tom Hiddleston.
