Reactions from celebrities, like Jennifer Holliday, and American Idol contestants came after the near elimination of Jessica Sanchez on American Idol 2102 results show. At the start of the show, Jessica’s fans were shocked after Ryan Seacrest announced the AI contestants at the bottom 3; Jessica Sanchez got the lowest votes.
Inside the studio loud cheers erupted however, when Jennifer Lopez interrupted Jessica and announced that they were using their save option for her. Her fans were eventually relieved and thankful for the judges’ save.
Jessica was teary-eyed but being a God-fearing person, apparently she was ready and thankful to God for anything that would happen to her. When Ryan Seacrest asked if she was surprised about getting the least votes, she replied: “Not at all. I mean, whatever happens, happens..”
In her Twitter page she said:
“Goodmorning loves! 🙂 So very blessed to be givin’ another chance.”
“I’m proud of myself for making it this far but, I’m also really proud of the contestants. We all work so hard.”
When she was informed that she was trending worldwide, she tweeted back:
“I’m trending worldwide? Wow. You guys really are amazing <3 Thank you! Love you so much!”
Meanwhile, some of Jessica Sanchez’ co-American Idol contestants gave their two-cents’ through Twitter:
Erika Van Pelt, who made it to the American Idol 2012 Top 10 contestants, likewise reacted to Jessica’s save:
“I am sure you are all feeling a little weird about the bottom vote getter tonight. Anyone else think that just looked weird?”
“Now that I know everyone left is safe another week, I want to ask everyone what they are most looking forward to seeing on tour this summer!”
Heejun Han, Top 8 AI contestant said:
“Jessica Sanchez, being on bottom three is like drinking energy drinks, it wakes you up but it taste like crap.”
Heejun Han also said:
“MG…West coast people if you are pregnant or have heart problem. Please dont watch the show. Its too much to handle,” which Colton Dixon re-tweeted.
Joshua Ledet, who is predicted as one of the AI Top 3 Finalists reacted as well, but talks about Nigel:
“You never really find a down to earth producer like Nigel Lythgoe who cares so much about the show and contestants! :)”
Elise Testone did not say anything about Jessica she was just happy, thanking her college for all the support she got.
“So happy to be safe on”#americanidol”. Thank you to theEliTes:)”
Skylar Laine had this surprised reaction, and made it clear via Twitter:
“For people saying I wasn’t happy with the save thats ridiculous. Jessica is out of this world and Im very glad she is still with us!”
And later replied to another tweet:
“No not at all actually was just so shocked they even had to use it on her because she is so amazing.”
Celebrity Jennifer Holliday, Tony award winning actress and singer tweeted to Jessica Sanchez:
“Wow!..Jessica Slayed that Song!..,How can So Much Power & Passion Come from Such A Little Angel?!:-)”
To which Jessica tweeted back her thanks.
Mario Lopez, EXTRA host and American TV personality tweeted:
“Thankfully my Chula Vista girl Jessica Sanchez was saved last night on A.I. Would’ve been tragic…She’s the best singer there!”
Local celebrities in the Philippines, where Jessica’s roots are, lauded the AI judges “save.” One of them is Aubrey Miles, an actress, who tweeted: “Love Jessica Sanchez!!! Let’s all support her!!”
Another actor, comedian John Lapus tweeted:
“Nagholy week vacay pala ang mga Pinoy at Mexicano kaya mababa ang votes ni Jessica Sanchez. Pwes humanda na sila.”
(The Pinoys (Filipinos) and Mexicans were on a Holy Week vacation that was why Jessica Sanchez got the lowest votes. Well, they’ve got to be ready,) referring to next week’s votes.
ABS-CBN 2, the leading Philippine network tweeted:
“Pinoys, hwag tayong makampante! Iboto ang ating pambato sa American Idol! JESSICA SANCHEZ! Kayang kaya natin to!”
(Pinoys, let’s not be over-confident! Vote for our bet at American Idol! JESSICA SANCHEZ! We can do it!)
