MANILA, Philippines – Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued Thunderstorm Advisory #3 on September 10, 2018; 12 pm, warning affected areas to take precautionary measures against flash floods and landslides due to heavy rains and strong winds.

The Batangas and Laguna area are presently experiencing the effect of the thunderstorm. Within the next two hours, heavy rains and lightning are expected over Bataan, Pampanga, Rizal, Tarlac, Cavite and Zambales.

PAGASA also announced that a tropical storm, Typhoon “Mangkhut”, could enter the Philippine area of responsibility this week, September 12, Wednesday. It could hit Cagayan and Batanes on September 15, Saturday.

Also, according to PAGASA, a Low Pressure Area north of Basco, Batanes has turned into tropical depression, Neneng.

School Administrators may want to monitor weather conditions, so that announcements are made earlier to prevent students from reporting to school, only to be told that classes were suspended.

Additionally, school admins must use their good judgment in considering the students’ ability to commute even when the rains have stopped. Hence, classes can be suspended in areas where roads are impassable, even after the storm has passed.

Here’s the announcement from PAGASA

Keep safe everyone.
