Finally, the awesome film “First Man”, starring Ryan Gosling as Neil Armstrong, will be shown in US theaters on October 12, 2018.
“First Man” had its World Premiere on August 29, 2018 at the Venice Film Festival, and will be screened on September 9, 2018 at the Toronto International Film Festival. It will premiere in Germany on October 11, 2018.
The movie was derived from the book, First Man: The Life of Neil A. Armstrong written by James R. Hansen, and is directed by Damien Chazelle and the screenplay written by Josh Singer.

The movie stars Ryan Gosling as Neil Armstrong, and also features Claire Foy, Kyle Chandler and Jason Clarke, among others.
It can be recalled that Neil Armstrong was the first man to set foot and walk on the moon in the historic landing of Apollo 11 in 1969. As the film’s slogan says:
“…the most dangerous mission in history.”
Some controversy surfaced when people observed that a scene of Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong planting the American Flag on the moon was not included.
Neil Armstrong have lived a full life and died at age 82 on August 25, 2012 in his home in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Reportedly, President Trump stated that:
“It’s unfortunate. It’s almost like they’re embarrassed at the achievement coming from America, I think it’s a terrible thing.”
Trump further said that thinking about Neil Armstrong and the landing on the moon, one would also think about the American flag.
He added:
“For that reason, I wouldn’t even want to watch the movie.”
The director of the movie, Chazelle responded:
“I show the American flag standing on the lunar surface … :
Nevertheless, Movie fans and critics have awarded “First Moon” excellent ratings and stars.
Perhaps, the huge box office returns would justify the director’s stand about the American Flag controversy.
