No Classes (#WalangPasok) Announcements for October 19, 2015 due to Typhoon Lando

MANILA, Philippines – Due to floods caused by the strong winds and rain brought by Typhoon Lando (Super Typhoon Koppu), there will be no classes (class suspensions) in the following areas tomorrow, Monday, October 19, 2015.

Class suspensions:

• Muntinlupa – No classes in ALL LEVELS, both public and private
• Valenzuela – No classes in ALL LEVELS, both public and private
• Pateros – No classes in ALL LEVELS, both public and private
• Angeles City – No classes in ALL LEVELS, both public and private
• Marikina – No classes in ALL LEVELS, both public and private
• Pampanga – No classes in ALL LEVELS, both public and private
• Makati – No classes in ALL LEVELS, both public and private
• Manila – No classes in ALL LEVELS, both public and private
• Caloocan – No classes in ALL LEVELS, both public and private
• Malabon – No classes in ALL LEVELS, both public and private

Typhoon Lando is the strongest typhoon that has threatened the country after 5 years since Typhoon Yolanda.

Lando has maximum sustained winds of 150 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 185 kph. As of 12 am, Nueva Ecija and is about to threaten the Cordillera Region.

Typhoon Lando is expected to weaken on Friday, October 23, as it leaves the country’s PAR.

Residents in low lying areas are advised to evacuate to higher grounds, and observe necessary precautions.
