“Heneral Luna” is Chosen as the Philippines’ Official Entry to the 2015 OSCARS

MANILA, Philippines – “Heneral Luna”, a historical film, is the Philippines’ Official Entry to the 2015 OSCARS or the 88th Academy Awards for the “Best Foreign Language Film” category.

“Heneral Luna” was well-received by local film critics, naming the film as “one of the Greatest Filipino films in history”. It recounts the story of one of the most popular generals, Genera Luna, during the Spanish era in the Philippines.

“Heneral Luna” is directed by Jerrold Tarog, and stars John Arcilla as Heneral Antonio Luna (General Luna), Mon Confiado as Pres. Emilio Aguinaldo and Epi Quizon as Apolinario Mabini.
It’s produced by Artikulo Uno Productions and distributed by Quantum Films.

During the past months, the film of the one and only Superstar of Philippine Showbiz, Nora Aunor, have earned trophies and citations from international award giving bodies from all over the world. This is through her film, “Taklub”.
Perhaps, the Pinoy delegation to the OSCARS will finally capture the “Best Foreign Language Film” trophy with “Heneral Luna.”
