According to the Holy Bible, Mark Chapter 10 verses 6-9:
“At the beginning of creation God made them male and female. For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh. So they are no longer two but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let no man put asunder.”
These verses from the bible speak about how marriage is considered by God as relationships that should last forever. The Bible is telling readers that for a marriage to be happy, they should become “one,” and no longer two individuals.
This context means that couples should try to come together in their decisions, visions and plans. The Bible is rife with secrets to a happy marriage and only readers who would sit quietly in one corner and peruse each verse would understand these teachings from this excellent Book of Life.
Another verse from 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 states that:
“Love is patient and kind; love is not jealous or boastful; it is not arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrong, but rejoices in the right. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things.”
The lines demonstrate unconditional love that wives and husbands should accord each other. When couples are patient with each other, and do not count the faults, then their marriages would be happy. The advice also talks about being tolerant, stoic and not being a nit-picker. It talks about rejoicing” and being happy with what is right.
Another lesson from the Bible is: 1 Peter 4:8
“Above all hold unfailing your love for one another, since love covers a multitude of sins.”
This line gives assurance that as long as couples love one another, then they will not be able to commit any infraction, which could make both partners unhappy. Their love could conquer all “sins.”
The Bible’s ‘secret” teachings refer as well, to the adage, that the marriage bed should be kept pure and wives should submit to their husbands.
Indeed, when either wife or husbands remain faithful, happiness and joy would reign in the marriage. Hence, the Bible advises faithfulness and the willingness of both partners to “render service” to each other.
The Bible encourages married couples to put Christ at the center and focal point of their marriage and these will let them stay happy forever. It is a challenging endeavor and a tall order, but with persistence and determination, it can be done.
