“Mars One Way” is a real project of the Bas Lansdorp and Arno Wielders, a nonprofit organization that is now screening people who would want to go to Mars and live there permanently – a one way mission.

Reportedly, the company would be filming a reality show with the Mars settlers.

If you were given the chance, would you leave everything behind and volunteer for this mission?

One of the candidates stated that once he leaves, he would be technically dead. Is it a noble act to sacrifice everything here on earth – even your family – for the advancement of science? Some would say it is a noble endeavor, but some would call it other names.

According to the organizers, 200,000 people applied. They plan to send the first four-group of people in 2024.
