Superstar Nora Aunor is featured in the 8th Asian Film Awards (AFA) promo video, together with veteran actor Eddie Garcia and other celebrities from Asia. The Awards Night for the 8th Asian Film Awards is on March 27, 2014.
Ate Guy (Nora Aunor) has won already international awards for her sterling performance in the critically acclaimed movie “Thy Womb” including last year’s Asian Film Awards, where she won Best Actress. Eddie Garcia also won Best Actor and the People’s Choice Awards for Favorite Actor for the film “Bwakaw.”
For this year, Eugene Domingo is a finalist in the Best Actress category for the film “Barber’s Tales.” Eugene would compete with South Korea’s Han Hyo-joo for Cold Eyes, Hongkong’s Paw Hee-ching for Rigor Mortis, Japan’s Yōko Maki for The Ravine of Goodbye, and China-Hongkong’s Zhang Ziyi for The Grandmaster.
Reportedly, AFA will invite its past winners to vote for the winner of the nominated candidates. If this plan pushes through this year, then Nora Aunor and Eddie Garcia will be voting for the winners, as well. Wilfred Wong Ying-wai acts as chairman of the executive committee with Director Lee Yong-kwan and Director General Yasushi Shiina as members.
The AFA nominated movies for Best Film are:
The Grandmaster
Snowpiercer
The Lunchbox
The Great Passage
Stray Dogs
No Man’s Land
The Asian Film Awards (AFA) will be held in the City of Dreams Macau’s House of Dancing Water theater on March 27, 2014.
