Michael Christian Martinez is 19th Overall in the Men Short Program held on Thursday, February 13, 2014 and has qualified for the Men Free Skating Competition to be held on Friday, February 14, 2014 in the Sochi Winter Olympics.
Japan’s Yuzuru Hanyu has topped the event with a score of 101.45, followed by Patrick Chan of Canada with 97.52
The lone Filipino entry’s inclusion in the Top 24 Olympic skaters from all over the world is impressive because the Philippines is a tropical country with no winter season. Michael Christian Martinez represented, also, all of Southeast Asia.
