Shirley Temple, Hollywood’s most loved child actress, has died Monday, February 10, 2014 at her home in San Francisco. She was 85. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1972, and had undergone mastectomy. This was disclosed by various international entertainment news reports.

Also known as Shirley Temple Black, she started her career when she was 3. She starred in blockbuster movies such as “Bright Eyes”, “Heidi”, “Little Princess“, and “Curly Top.” She left Hollywood at the age of 22, and has actively participated as a private citizen in political events in which she had believed in strongly.

Cheryl Kagan, Black’s publicist has revealed the news. Shirley Temple Black’s family released this statement, reportedly:

“We salute her for a life of remarkable achievements as an actor, as a diplomat, and most importantly as our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and adored wife for fifty-five years of the late and much missed Charles Alden Black.”
