Tropical Depression Agaton Update: Agaton Moving West, Public Storm Signal No. 1 over Some Parts of the Mindanao Islands

MANILA, Philippines – Update on Tropical Depression Agaton shows that the TD is moving west, while Public Storm Signal No. 1 is issued over some parts of the Mindanao Islands, such as: Agusan Del Norte, Agusan Del Sur, Surigao Del Norte, and Surigao Del Sur.

According to PAGASA:

AT 4:00 PM TODAY, THE CENTER OF TROPICAL DEPRESSION ”AGATON” WAS ESTIMATED BASED ON ALL AVAILABLE DATA AT 185 KM EAST OF HINATUAN, SURIGAO DEL SUR OR 305 KM SOUTH EAST OF SURIGAO CITY (8.6 ºN, 12 8.0 ºE) WITH MAXIMUM WINDS OF 55 KPH . NORTHEAST MONSOON AFFECTING LUZON.”

Public Storm signal no. 1 is also issued over Davao Oriental, Southern Leyte, Compostella Valley, Siargao Islands, and Dinagat Province. The rest of the Visayas Islands would experience rains and moderate to strong winds.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will be cloudy with light rains, accompanied by light to strong winds.
