“Ariel Saron” trends on Twitter as numerous Tweeterpeeps expressed their reactions about the death of the ex- Israeli Prime Minister. He has been in a coma for 8 years, and died at 85.
One Twitter user stated:
“How do you expect us to show respect and love to Ariel Saron when all he showed us, Palestinians. was disrespect and hate?”
Some used even harsher statements to express their feelings, especially about his responsibility as the Minister of Defense for the Sabra and Shatila refugee camp massacres of Palestinian civilians. Apparently, majority of the tweets came from victims of the wars that Sharon had ‘led.’
Reportedly, Ariel Sharon was relieved as Defense Minister because of his indirect responsibility of the event in 1982. Eventually, though, he became Prime Minister in 2001, but suffered a stroke in 2005. He was then replaced by Ehud Olmert, as acting Prime Minister.
To majority of the Israelis though, the late ex-Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon, was a legendary hero. He was voted in 2005 as the 8th Greatest Israeli of all Time. Ariel Sharon was, also, considered by Israeli’s as the Lion of God and the King of Israel, for his great triumph in battles during his early military career.
On Saturday, January 11, 2014, Ariel Sharon, Israeli’s Lion of God, would, hopefully, finally rest in peace.
