MANILA, Philippines – Tirso Cruz III won the “Best Actor In A Featured Role” and Bamboo for “Best Major Concert” and Tanghalang SLU for the Best Cultural Group from the 26th Aliw Awards. This was disclosed by local entertainment sites on September 9, 2013.
Tirso Cruz III, known as Pip to fans, and Superstar Nora Aunor, known as Ate Guy, are hugging the headlines lately with a reported comeback movie with them as a couple. It can be recalled that the “Guy and Pip” tandem in the late 70s was the hottest and the most popular love team, on and off screen.
Bamboo, on the other hand, has been doing well as a coach-mentor in the recently concluded X Factor Philippines’ Reality TV Singing competition.
Incidentally, the winner of the X Factor Philippines first series, Mitoy Yonting, won also the ”Best Performer in Hotels, Music Lounges, Bars”.
The other winners are Toni Gonzaga for Best Emcee (Female), Luis Manzano Best Emcee (Male).
“Katy” romped with most of the awards during the 26th Aliw Awards.
