MANILA, Philippines – International rock band Journey’s frontman Arnel Pineda’s foundation, the Arnel Pineda Foundation Inc – APFI, is set to conduct relief operations in Pampanga, Arnel’s home province.
The relief efforts would be in Guemasan, Arayat, Pampanga and is scheduled third week of September. Tropical Storm Maring brought floods to the country affecting Metro Manila, the provinces of Bataan, Cavite, Pampanga, Zambales, and Laguna.
AFPI had also participated actively in the Operation Tulong Sulong where the foundation, together with Far Eastern University (OMSA and JMA students), distributed relief goods to victims of Typhoon Maring last Monday, August 26, 2013.
On the Arnel Pineda Foundation Inc – APFI official Facebook account, the foundation is welcoming all donations, in cash and/or in kind.
“Massive flooding brought about by tropical Storm Maring resulted in the displacement of over 70,000 families in Arnel Pineda’s home province of Pampanga. The map shows the extent of devastation in the area – located about 2 hours north of Manila. Because some thoroughfares are still impassable to light vehicles, most families are unable to obtain even the most basic needs.
APFI plans to conduct relief efforts in Guemasan, Arayat, Pampanga around the third week of September. We ask for your kind assistance in supporting this mission. We have distributed all in-kind donations in the first Tulong-Sulong effort. Because of time constraints with this following mission, we ask for your cash donations or any assistance you could provide within the available time.
