A cantaloupe recall 2011 update, revealed by US news sites, September 16 reported that the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) had narrowed down the source of the contaminated cantaloupes to Jensen Farms.

These were labelled Frontera Produce, and Rocky Ford Cantaloupes.

Heavenly Father, we pray today for this seminar we are about to start.

May you enlighten our minds so that we   would be able to absorb and learn everything that the speaker has in store for us.

May you let us see that learning does not only concern adding information to our knowledge but also developing our spirituality and social responsibility from this acquired knowledge.

Give us the strength to apply responsibly what we would be learning for the greater glory of your name. Amen.

Reality TV star, Kate Gosselin, will have the last and final episode of her “Kate Plus 8” aired on September 12, entertainment reports stated, September 7, 2011.

Kate Gosselin became famous when her family was featured in a reality TV show, “Jon and Kate Plus 8,” with which included her husband, their sextuplets and twins.  The  show  dissolved  however  when  Kate and  Jon got   divorced  in December  2009.

The show was renamed “Kate Plus 8” and had been aired from 2005. Gosselin expressed her sentiments about not    knowing what’s next.

Gosselin also was a contestant in the 10^th Season of “Dancing with the Stars” but has been eliminated on April 2010.  She had told  her children,  after  “Kate  Plus  8”  she  will  still be  giving  life  “her  best  shot.”

Heavenly Father we stand before you humbled and grateful. May you bestow your divine blessings and wisdom so that we can proceed with the matter at hand with fortitude and discernment.

Grant us the grace to accept the ideas of other persons in this group so we could truly come up with a plan that is created by all of us here who are present.

Show us the road to understanding and tolerance so we would know that the world is not about “I”, “me” and “mine,” but more about “they,” “them” and “theirs,” that we should all cooperate to make our plans a success with no one placing himself above the rest, just as you have taught us in Gethsemane.

Teach us to listen to one another and to the persons that we serve. Help us to strive for perfection by loving more our so called enemies and not just our friends and family.

As we start this meeting, we pray that you enlighten us with what you want us to do, by making us realize that it is only through serving others that we could truly serve you.

All this we ask through your son, Christ our Lord. Amen.

A group who claims they belong to Anonymous, has announced that they will be hacking Facebook on November 5. According to them, August 10, 2011, Facebook has been using private names and information for unauthorized disclosure.

The official website however of Anonymous has not acknowledged the video , hence, many think it is a hoax. It can be remembered that Anonymous had been considered with the Sony PlayStation hacking. The group denied the allegations however.

Reportedly, experts say that it was impossible to hack Facebook because of its complex and machinery and security features.

Atlantis the last Space Shuttle landed safely, Thursday, July 21, 2011, 5:57 a.m. EDT, at the Kennedy Space Center, with NASA acknowledging that the 30 years of the shuttle project was a success and, ”Its Journey Complete.” This was disclosed by US sites and NASA, July 21, 2011.
Atlantis’ landing reportedly drew more than 2,000 people who were present at the Kennedy Space Center, with other enthusiasts watching in their homes.

STS-135 astronauts, Doug Hurley (pilot,) Sandra Magnus and Rex Walheim (Mission Specialists) and Atlantis commander, Christopher Ferguson were welcomed by Charles Bolden and NASA officials and the thousands of people. Ferguson said:

“After serving the world for over 30 years, the space shuttle’s earned its place in history. And it’s come to a final stop.”

NASA administrator Charles Bolden said in the NASA blog:

“They have come to be known as the ‘final four.’ They did an absolutely incredible job. They make us proud.”

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2

For some avid fans, the showing of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 last July 14, 2011 concluded the 8-part series they have always loved. No doubt that each Harry Potter movie was a box-office hit. But this eighth and final installment of the series can make box-office history, as it has a great chance to be the world-wide top grossing non-Cameron movie of all time, as reported by US news sites on their issue last July 18, 2011.

The movie made nearly $168million in United States alone, over the weekend. A tally of $300million was the estimate for its overseas showing. Further reports states that HP and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 is already almost halfway to beating the current worldwide top-grosser film, “The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King”, with its figures of $1.2 billion.

This is another major success for writer and co-producer J.K Rowling. With the figures given, it is obvious that the wizard world never lost its magic over their muggle fans. For viewers who can’t get enough of the Harry Potter phenomenon, a review of an interview of Rowling after the release of the seventh book provides an expounded view on what happened years after Voldemort was defeated.

Rowling says in the interview that Harry, with his wife Ginny created the family that he never had as a child. He also had the occupation he had always dreamed of. Together with Ron, he now works as an Auror for the Ministry of Magic. Ron of course, married Hermione who is now working at the Department of Magical Law Enforcement of the Ministry of Magic.

Hogwarts is now led by a new headmaster, Professor McGonagall and has a new Herbology professor, Neville Longbottom.

Lord, we gather here as a group to plan for activities that would help us fulfill our duties and responsibilities as mentors. May you bestow your divine providence and enlightenment so we would be able to come up with plans and programs that would benefit the academic community and society as a whole.

May you grant us the wisdom to be aware that all our plans should revolve around your Christian tenets and teachings. Grant us also  your grace and spirit, so that we could achieve these goals and be living witnesses to your all-abounding love.

We ask all these through your son, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Let’s bow our heads and ask for God’s blessings. Heavenly father, we thank you for successful conclusion of this meeting. We thank you for the cooperation and contribution of everyone present here today.

May all out plans and goals be achieved according to your will.  May these plans be for your greater glory. Allow us to be able to implement these plans considering the benefit of all concerned.

We would like also to pray for our loved ones who are not with us here today, may they be blessed with your grace so that they would be able to support us in all our missions and goals.

All these we ask through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
