I Finally Found my Best Friend in Facebook
Jena Isle | May 9, 2010 | 4:38 am

I was in college when I met Polly. She was a lovely, soft – spoken, well-mannered lady who had a good word for everyone. Life became more meaningful with her around. Every time I thought, I was going to give up, she was there urging me on, inspiring me. We shared the same room and I was fascinated at how thoughtful she was, always thinking about my welfare and benefit. She was always there to lend a helping hand and a sympathetic ear. I do not think college would have been thrice as memorable without my best friend Polly. And yes, there was one time, I had wished my cousin and she would hit it off, but I guess, fate has a strange way of directing things, because she finally met the man of her dreams…lol…in the person of her husband. Polly, I promised I wouldn’t tell anyone of our covert conversations about your great love…lol…

Polly, my best friend

Do you remember when I used to cook one piece of tuyo (dried fish) for lunch because the city was isolated then and there was no way we could get our allowances? Do you remember how we survived that one month of rains and storms when there was no vestige of outside help? We were lucky our dorm was one of the sturdiest buildings in the campus. But you made me endure all of those challenges with a smile on my lips and a song in my heart. You were the sunbeam during my darkest days and the silver lining during my hopeless hours.

When college life ended, I carried our good memories together as we went our separate ways. Life went on as usual. I lost contact with you from then on, but I always prayed for you every chance that I got, hoping life was treating you well.

I always smile when I remember you- my best friend; your sweet smile, your soothing, gentle voice, your loyalty, your kindness, your courage, your true friendship.

Thanks, best friend for bestowing upon me your precious friendship and welcoming me into your life. I will treasure all of these in my heart, for as long as I live. I have never thought we’d meet again but God has strange ways. After more than 20 years, our paths finally crossed and….Would you believe it? I found you, my best friend, in Facebook! The wonders of technology, I was exultant!

The wrinkles are there, the sagging extra “baggage” are unsightly, but deep inside us, we are still the same persons, (hopefully more mature) that we were before. I know it will be a long process to keep up and be re-acquainted with each other again, but well, what’s important is we are once more re-connected. I love you best friend and I thank God that our paths have intersected again.

Clinkbank is one of the reasons for the massive success of many online products. It is a digital database of retail products. This is where vendors and their affiliates meet to do business for each other. Although bringing your product to clickbank can do well for your business, the step does not end there. You need to market your merchandise to increase your income. Because some article directories do not allow the inclusion of links, you can create free blogs to increase traffic to your site and convert this to clickbank sales.

Create a Free Blog – Creating a free blog that features your merchandise is the initial step to increase your sales. If you are a beginner in the world of blogging, there are many sources online that will teach you the step-by-step methods to create one for yourself. Blooger.com is a good way to start. The site will help you decide your lay-out and design. Once you have the design in mind, think about your title. Make sure that your title has relevance to your product in order to increase your clickbank sales.

Add Content to your Blog – You can include anything in your blogs like product reviews, testimonials or informative articles but all of these must be relevant to your niche to make visitors come back. When online visitors go to your blog, you increase traffic and you have higher chances of directing them to your desired website. Through free blogs, you have higher chances of increasing your clickbank sales.

Create Free Blogs for Each of your Products – Because blogs are specific to a certain topic, try to create a new blog for the merchandise different from your first. You can repeat the first two steps above. As you become an expert in the creation of blogs, you will find it easier and faster for you to set up more in the future. The more pages you have, the better for your clickbank sales.

Add Link – Because your primary objective in creating a page is to market your merchandise, make sure that you optimized the search engine by adding keywords in your posts. After each article, review or testimonial, add an author resource box at the bottom. In this section, include your short biography and the link of your affiliates. When you have interested guests, they can just click on the link and it will lead them to your affiliates’ site. Once in the site, make your page as fascinating and as persuasive as possible to convince your visitors to take appropriate action. An efficient sales page is beneficial for your clickbank sales.

Try the Links – After setting up your blog, you need to verify whether it is working well. A non-functional link will only waste all your efforts. Try clicking the hyperlink and see whether it directs you to an affiliate’s website. Once in the website, try to click the sales page and clickbank ordering button. Once you know that everything is working well, you can be confident that your clickbank sales will rise in no time.

Positive Communication and its Benefits
Jena Isle | March 21, 2010 | 8:17 am

Communication is one of the most significant discoveries of man since the beginning of time.  I speak now in a language you understand. Man learned how to communicate through symbols (written), actions, and speech.

Imagine if the gift of communication has not been instituted, then the world would be in chaos and eternal unrest. Communication though does not concern only the oral but also the written and psychomotor aspects. It is important therefore, that we communicate our thoughts and feelings in a positive manner.

What are the benefits of positive communication?

1. When a person communicates positively, it means he does this in a happy manner. His words are kind and his actions lively. These positive, physical expressions of communication increase the secretion of the hormone progesterone. Progesterone is one of the vital hormones responsible for several functions in menstruation and pregnancy.

2. A person who expresses himself in a positive manner experience lesser stress because fewer muscles are used. If fewer muscles are used then the person would be more relaxed and less fatigued.

3. When you communicate in a negative manner like when you’re angry and stressed out, you stimulate the secretion of cortisol. Cortisol is a hormone secreted by the cortex of the adrenal glands.

The over secretion of cortisol will lead to insomnia, obesity, and lack of appetite. These are all detrimental to health and well being.

4. Positive communication includes the words, thank you, please, and you’re welcome.
These are words that demonstrate to the person that you respect him and that you are acknowledging his humanity. These would not only evoke feelings of belongingness but also of appreciation.

Belongingness and appreciation are included in Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs. When all of the needs are fulfilled, a person would be considered healthy and in a state of well-being.

5. The non-verbal message should also be positive. Staying close to the person when talking indicates that you are amiable and open to his ideas. These would promote better understanding. A peaceful and positive environment would attract more positive energy.

With loved ones a positive non-verbal message like hugging and embracing would generate camaraderie and more love, and as we are well aware of, love brings out the best in everyone. Even the physiological functions of the body are enhanced; the skin glows, blood circulation is increased, metabolism is unimpeded. This is because positive emotions lower the concentration of cortisol. Positive written thoughts too would have the same good effects.

6. Positive communication also promotes peace and contentment among people. You cannot stay angry with a person who talks to you in a calm, soft voice, in spite of your yelling and shouting. What better benefit you can derive from positive communication than peace and love for everyone?

The importance of positive oral communication cannot be denied especially in this computer generation where “face to face” encounters rule out non verbal cues, so go out and spread the wonder of positive communication.
