Cincinnati Reds Win over the Milwaukee Brewers

The Cincinnati Reds won over the Milwaukee Brewers as they start to defend their National League (NL) Central title at the Great American Ball Park in the grand start of the National League baseball games 2011. This is according to sports news sites, March 31, 2011.

Ramon Hernandez was one of the major players who have led the Cincinnati Reds a 7-6 victory against the Milwaukee Brewers. With the win the Reds reinstated their place as division champion in the 2010 season. Hopefully the rotation of the team would be better than that of the Atlanta Braves or the Yankees.

The opening game proves to be a superb start for the Cincinnati Reds which is hoping to capture the division title of the National League 2011 and retain the glory of being the champion and eventually win a world series.

President Obama Locked Out Video has Become Popular (Video)

President Obama has recently returned from his trip from Latin America to find the door of the West Wing locked.  The door was locked because apparently he had arrived in the White House earlier than expected. This was reported by international news sites, March 26, 2011.

He walked to the West Wing and opened the door but found it locked. Just like any sane person the President skirted the building calmly to find an open door.

That was a response expected from a president. There are some similar incidents in which the president responded in consternation and irritation. Bravo for President Obama!

NATO or The North Atlantic Treaty Organization takes over the command of Operation Odyssey Dawn in Libya as US President Obama honors his statement of limiting participation in Libya. This was reported by international news sites, March 24, 2011.

Fogh Rasmussen, NATO secretary general has announced that the members of the NATO are committed to implement the no-fly zone as a UN resolution. This follows as Libya is attacked by the UN coalition forces when Gaddafi refused to comply with it.  The coalition was trying to protect the anti-government forces in Benghazi whom Gaddafi vowed to show “no mercy”.

There are no plans of deploying ground troops however by the US. This dissipated the doubts of some Americans.  The previous attacks came from the air and from ships strategically located at specified points in the globe.

Myanmar earthquake last Thursday night, March 24, 2011 kills more than 60 people. The 6.8 magnitude quake’s epicenter is in the north of Tachileik along the Thai border. According to international reports, there are 65 people killed and 111 injured in the incident with constant updates as authorities still check the injuries in remote areas.

According to a United Nations official, the organization is now coordinating with the Myanmar authorities and Myanmar Red Cross Society to provide assistance to the victims which are mostly in the form of medicines.

As one of the poorest and underdeveloped countries in Asia, Myanmar is quite reluctant in giving information about the number of casualties as it is very sensitive to outside criticisms. The government controls the information about the recent quake that hit their country.

After the strong shaking of the ground, aftershocks followed. According to some residents, seeing the aftermath of the quake in Japan intensifies their fear.
