In your case, if it's related to your topic--even less of a problem. For me personally--I signed up for one of these sites, but just couldn't do it! It wasn't that I felt guilty or anything. It was more that it seemed to take away my sense of freedom. I am personally much happier writing about what I want when I want. But I don't demand anyone else to adopt my viewpoint on this. I notice you belong to Associated Content. I do too and I like that format, because, if I write something for them, they either buy it or not--and that's the end of it.
